ARTISTS Leonardo Cappellini
Leonardo Cappellini
A very young craftsman and artist from Florence, Leonardo Cappellini attended the scientific high school, which allowed him to get closer to nature and take an interest in the natural processes that make up our ecosystem.
With his subsequent degree in Design, Leonardo found his source of artistic inspiration in nature. He began to create small wooden objects and, after accidentally discovering the lathe technique, was fascinated by the infinite possibilities with which this material can be handled. He entered an intense phase of woodturning experimentation: in every free moment of his life, Leonardo devoted himself to the study and processing of this material until he decided to transform this passion into his work.
ATELIER:
He opens his first workshop outside the city of Florence to have direct contact with his muse: nature. In a short time, his home in Molin del Piano also becomes a true artist’s atelier. This place, surrounded by olive groves, woods, and streams, thus transforms into a space for research, experimentation, and pure creation. Uncontaminated by the rest of the world and far from urban noise, here, Leonardo has the opportunity to listen to nature, perceive the breath of trees, and connect with his main medium: wood.
